Altuzarra for Target starting September 14th!

Has it really been a month dear friends?  I sincerely apologize for the lengthy absence but things have just been SO hectic for us at home. August is family birthday month so the whole month gets consumed by party planning and execution!

I recently read about Altuzarra for Target and it seems like another exciting designer Target collab.  The entire lookbook has now been released on the Target website here.  Take note that some items will be online exclusives at Target.com, some items will also be available on net-a-porter.com (for shipping worldwide!) and some items will be available in store.

Here are a few of my picks.

I *love* swiss dot fabric and the collection uses it extensively! This dress looks really pretty and I really like the wide belt.  I’m thinking even if the dress doesn’t fit my petite frame, I will pick up the belt since I’m in need of a cute wide belt.

The blouse under this jacket uses the swiss dot fabric again and I’m a sucker for a cute blouse using swiss dot!  I will definitely be picking up the bow neck blouse.  The blazer has an adorable peplum back but I find it hard to shop for blazers that fit so I’ll have to probably order it and decide once I try it on.

The purple orchid dress is so pretty!  I think the material will make the dress special or will turn it into a dud.  Can’t wait to see it in person and decide.

Shopping tips for Target designer collaborations

I’ve only shopped 1 other really highly anticipated Target designer collaborations (the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection) and here are my best tips based on my shopping experience.

  1. The collection will launch sometime after midnight online.  Don’t expect the items to instantly show up at midnight!  Target’s website got really bogged down with all the traffic from that previous sale and was a bit buggy and took a little while to update.
  2. Check Twitter for the official hashtag #AltuzarraForTarget.  A few links to items were posted on Twitter before I could find them on the official designer splash page.
  3. Click through the category page (e.g. Handbags or Shoes) instead of the official designer splash page.
  4. Target imposed limits on how many items each person was allowed to purchase.  In this case, it was 5 items from the line and 3 of the same item.  So if you’re planning to purchase many items, you’ll need to split your orders up.
  5. Make sure your credit card information on file is correct to help speed up checkout since items can disappear from your cart at any time!

Are you excited about this Target designer collab?  Has anything in particular caught your eye?

Target.com Now Carries Premium Skincare Lines

Here’s something interesting that I just discovered.  Target.com now carries some nicer skincare lines through its Subscribe & Save program!

Clarins, Laneige, Vichy and La Roche Posay are now available.  Even better, these are all 20% off this week.  You don’t typically find Clarins on sale anywhere besides special events at Sephora, but at 20% off that is a great deal!

I’ve noticed that Laneige, Vichy and La Roche Posay aren’t readily available in my part of the country, though I have seen that Duane Reade carries it in NYC.  I’ve seen these brands in Canada at Shopper’s Drug Mart.

Target Now Offers Subscribe & Save

Target now has a Subscribe and Save feature similar to Amazon’s program.  Both Amazon and Target offer free shipping on all S&S items with no minimum purchase.

This week Target is taking 20% off your S&S order (along with an additional 5% off if you’re a RED card holder).

I’ve compared prices on a few items to give you an idea of whether or not you would save money.  Keep in mind that prices change all the time so this may not be the case in a few months or even weeks or days.

Item Amazon S&S Price (5% off retail) Target S&S Price (no RED card) — this week 20% off Verdict
Method All Purpose Cleaning Spray – French Lavender (28 oz) $15.16 for 4 bottles ($3.79/bottle) $2.66/bottle Target saves you 30% per bottle
Cottonelle Ultra Comfort Care Double Roll Toilet Paper (32 Rolls) $23.89 ($0.75/roll) $14.87 ($0.46/roll) Target saves you 38% per roll
Bounty Select-A-Size Paper Towels (Huge Rolls) $29.89 for 12 rolls ($2.49/roll) $15.83 for 8 rolls ($1.98/roll) Target saves you 39% per roll
Tide Pods Laundry Detergent Spring Meadow Scent $18.26 for 77 pods ($0.24/pod) $14.39 for 72 pods ($0.20/pod) Target saves you 17% per pod
Method Hand Wash Gel Sweet Water Refill (34 oz) $28.44 for a pack of 6 ($4.74/34 oz package) $3.81/34 oz package Target saves you 20% per package
Bounce Outdoor Fresh Fabric Softener Sheets (240 count) $9.47 for a package of 240 $3.81/34 oz package Target saves you 20% per package

For this week, with Target offering 20% off their Subscribe & Save price, Target is saving you a ton of money over Amazon.  After the 20% off promo ends, it still looks like Target generally saves you more than Amazon.  If you are in a state where Amazon doesn’t collect sales tax, that may make a difference as well.  Target’s selection is also quite limited compared to Amazon’s huge selection.

As for me, I’m off to load up my Target S&S cart with a ton of things we’ll need around the house!  Will you be switching over to Target S&S?

New Target Designer Collab: Peter Pilotto for Target debuts February 9th!

Target Designer Collabs are so much fun and today the PETER PILOTTO for Target collection lookbook was unveiled.  The collection is designed by London based designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos.  It features tons of the crazy, complex prints that the designers are known for.

Target has released 22 looks that include approximately 70 items ranging from dresses, rompers, swimwear and accessories.  Prices will range from $16.99 to $79.99 with a few pieces exclusive to Target.com.  The collection will debut on February 9th, 2014.  In my experience, items go up on Target.com at midnight pacific.

Personally, my favorite items are the red iris print items.  So pretty!  However, I don’t know if I love the rest of the collection.  I don’t wear a lot of prints so this is pretty loud for me!

What do you think?  Do you love prints or do you shy away like me?  Will you be picking anything up from this collection?

The full look book is after the cut!

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target is a huge hit!

The 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection launched today and it was a huge hit!  The handbags and accessories sold out very quickly online and I heard that the bags were the first to get cleared out at stores as well.

This video shows how crazy it all got so I’m glad I did my shopping online.  I was refreshing the page over and over waiting for the bags to show up on the site and around 1AM PST, they finally all showed up!

I ordered several styles and I am eagerly awaiting their arrival next week.  Based on my experience last night, I have a few tips for shopping the next big Target designer collaboration.

  1. The collection will launch sometime after midnight online.  Don’t expect the items to instantly show up at midnight!
  2. Check Twitter for the official hashtag.  A few links to items were posted on Twitter before I could find them on the Target site by clicking through the category page (e.g. Handbags).
  3. Target imposed limits on how many items each person was allowed to purchase.  In this case, it was 5 items from the line and 3 of the same item.  So if you’re planning to purchase many items, you’ll need to split your orders up.
  4. Make sure your credit card information on file is correct to help speed up checkout since items can disappear from your cart at any time!

Did you score anything in store or online?  I’ll be sharing photos of what I got next week!
